5x7 oil painting on a horizontal wood panel
This painting went through a lot to get to this point. There are at least 2 different paintings underneath her. I felt stuck painting and painting, trying and trying to accomplish the right feeling - one of hope and light on the horizon. It's easy to feel stuck, to only see the dark cloud above you but if you step back the full picture comes into view & you can see that sunshine peeking through. Eventually this painting worked itself out and the end result was better than I could have imagined, the struggle was worth it and was a good reminder to keep going and to never stop looking for light.
